Reykjavik, Iceland

Reykjavik is the world’s northernmost capital city. It has about 2/3 of the inhabitants of Iceland – or about 170,000 people, many of whom come from somewhere else.  I toured it and the most popular regional site, the Golden Circle, on my previous visit in 2012.

Today, I chose to do a photographic tour of this picture perfect country.  This was a specialized tour that took in some of the best photographic locations in the region. We had wonderful panoramic views over vast lava fields, hot springs, mountain ranges and lakes. Unfortunately, there have been bad outbreaks of norovirus on the ship and half way through the tour it and all other tours were cancelled because some people were becoming ill on the buses. Nobody on our bus was sick but nevertheless we had to return. We did see some interesting things while we were out and I attach a few photos.
