Dravuni Island, Fiji

Welcome to paradise!  Dravuni Island is some 65 kilometres (40 miles) to the south of the main island of Fiji. It has a small village of some 200 people, perfect beaches, crystal clear water, reefs for snorkelling, small mountains which are excellent for hiking and nothing else.  On arrival the locals greet you with the tradition Fijian greeting Bula!   The village has a school for children from kindergarten to grade 4 and my friend and I had brought school supplies which we delivered. In return we were treated to dancing and singing by the young students for whom the day seemed to be a vacation.   The adults were selling local handicrafts, boat rides and food and beverages in an effort to make some real money. The passengers were enjoying  swimming, snorkelling and just walking along the soft sandy beach. I attach a few photos. I hope you are envious because on Sunday we get to do this all over again on Mystery Island, Vanuatu.
