Mystery Island, Vanuatu

Mystery Island will have to remain a mystery. The Captain assessed the situation on arrival and pronounced it too dangerous to tender passengers ashore.  We are now on our way to Nouméa, New Caledonia.  Mystery Island is unpopulated. It has a  small landing strip dating from WW II which receives two flights per week and is close to Anatom Island which has a  small population and which I was supposed to visit.  Mystery itself has nice sandy beaches but as it turned out, the weather would not have been very nice for swimming. I attach a  couple of photos taken from some distance away. I also include a photo of a nice floral arrangement featuring red and pink ginger which I purchased at the market in Suva.
