Brisbane, Australia

I was here in 2010 on Remembrance Day and visited the Koala Sanctuary and the city. Here is a link to my post: https://lesliesh.wordpress.com/2010/11/11/brisbane-australia-remembrance-day/

Today, I went to the second location of the Brisbane Botanic Gardens on Mount Coot-tha five kilometres west along the river.  To get there I took the “CityCat”boat service from the cruise terminal  to the centre of the city and then took a bus the rest of the way. The 56 hectares of subtropical gardens are arranged in thematic an.geographical displays. A geodesic dome shelters tropical plants As it is spring, not everything was in bloom except Jacarandas which  still put on  nice show.

The return bus stopped at the top of Mount Coot-tha where there is  lookout point and the driver gave passengers a few minutes for  photo stop.

Brisbane is one of the country’s fastest-expanding areas in terms of population and employment. People come here for the affordable lifestyle, the booming economy and the laid-back attitude. Many live along the banks of the river in apartments reclaimed from old warehouses and use the CityCats for transport.
